Why I Avoided Evergreen Funnels for Years (And What Changed My Mind)

Episode 938: Show Notes

Everyone has valuable knowledge that they can pass on to someone. For years, I avoided Evergreen funnels like the plague. But when I finally cracked the code on Evergreen funnels and figured out how to make them work without sacrificing engagement or live connection, it changed everything for me! I was able to get out of the live-launch cycle. And that’s exactly what I’m teaching you how to do in Next Level Funnels. I am helping you build an automated funnel that’s going to continue to work for you all the time and show you how to balance that with live marketing so that you can turn it into a sales system that actually converts on autopilot. Let’s get into why I avoided Evergreen Funnels for so long and what finally changed my mind!

The Danger of Focusing on Selling Just for Today

I think a lot of this came down to the fact that I always felt like I had to be selling, and I felt like if I wasn’t selling, then I wasn’t doing my job and like I was going to lose momentum in my business. I also believed that if I wasn’t actively launching something, then I was losing money. Part of what fueled these beliefs is that I started with an agency and with clients. Before I had capital in the business and when I was surviving on a month-to-month basis, I was concerned that if I automated things through a funnel, I would lose the connection I built with my audience but that couldn’t have been further from the truth!

I was so focused on making my life work and building stability and security but I honestly think that I could’ve gotten there a lot faster if I had been building for my future instead of just focusing on making today work. I was stuck in a cycle of chasing ‘today’s sales’ instead of creating a system that could sell for me long-term. Evergreen funnels are a lot like trains; once you build the tracks, they will keep moving when you push them! Yes, they need fuel, but the systems they need are far simpler than you may think they are.

The Power of Repetition

Another problem I had was feeling like I constantly needed to reinvent the wheel. It’s very easy to get caught up in the idea that doing something the same way will make people disinterested. But here’s the thing, if you don’t remember what you did, nor does anyone else! No one is consuming as much content as you’re putting out there. You are the only one who sees all of it and if you can’t remember what you sent out, neither can they! And let’s say they do remember a little bit of something you’ve reused, is that a problem? Or is it reinforcing something that matters? Now, I don’t have to reinvent the wheel every time I launch, and believe me, not always starting over is much better!

Why Evergreen Funnels Can Be Just as Personal as Live Launches

I really love telling stories and sharing my recent experiences with my audience. At first, I felt like I had to remove the things that make my relationship with my audience feel personal if I used funnels. Evergreen doesn’t have to feel impersonal, it can still feel engaging. It can create urgency authentically and feel like a conversation instead of an automated script. When I really consider the reasons I was so fearful of Evergreen, it’s because I felt like I didn’t deserve to make money without working. There was part of me that knew that Evergreen presented the opportunity for me to make more money without more work and I think I felt unworthy or like I was taking advantage of a situation. I want you to know that you are worthy. Your business can function without you and you can bring value to your clients! The two things can co-exist.

The Versatility of Funnels

I have two kinds of funnels in my business: funnels that are attached to free offers and onboarding funnels. There are so many additional ways funnels can be used and I think we often assume that they are only for selling. But I want you to know that that’s simply not true. I love a hybrid model! There is so much power in incorporating elements of live content, events, and workshops with Evergreen offers. Thanks to the Evergreen offers, I can focus more on teaching freely because I can drive sales to things that I’ve already put my time and effort into while giving away my knowledge for free.

I want you to ask yourself if you’re stuck in launch mode? Or maybe you feel like you don’t deserve to make money unless you're constantly working for it? Are you willing to experiment and slow down enough to take the things that are working and automate them? If you’re willing to do that work, I want to help you get to the point where that product can make you daily sales. It’s not about replacing the live marketing, it’s about creating consistency so that you aren’t constantly starting over. If you’re ready, check out Next Level Funnels now!
