The Mindset Reboot: Three Shifts That Changed Absolutely Everything
Episode 900: Show Notes
We all have mind junk and I want to help you work through it! In today’s episode, I’m going to share snippets of some of my favorite trainings on mindset. It is absolutely imperative to shift your mindset and this episode is a preview of what that looks like! I believe that mindset is only the first step. You’re only going to move forward if you take action and pursue the things you say you want. I go into way more detail on everything we’re talking about today in The Mindset Reboot program inside the Co-op. It includes all three of these trainings. I want to dive into some of the specific things I’m going to be teaching so you can make use of some actionable tools to declutter your mind today!
Shifting to an Experimental Mindset
We tell ourselves stories all the time that are shaped by our experiences and the people around us. You can acknowledge that they influence you and your decisions and still choose which decisions serve you and which ones you need to let go of. You can create a filter for these stories because they were formed by your actual experiences. The stories exist to protect you, but you have to choose to evaluate them and retain what will support your goals. It’s a conscious process that will shape your path and mindset going forward. I used to struggle so much with my mentality of measuring success and failure by wins and losses and when I shifted my mindset and started to see everything as experimental, everything changed for me. There was no success or failure, just an opportunity to learn and grow. Every decision will help you get clearer without feeling the pressure of getting everything right.
Busting the ‘Perfectionism’ Myth
The second training is all about busting perfectionism. This was something I truly struggled with for my entire life. I wanted to show up in a way that made other people see me as having everything together. I want to help you see the things that you view as flaws as your very own potential superpowers. I know most of you are perfectionists or at least strive for excellence. Nothing is wrong with being those things, but we have assigned unhealthy meaning to it that will make you feel weighed down by your goals and keep you stuck. It can cause procrastination that will hold you back. Unhealthy perfectionists set unrealistic goals and high expectations but healthy perfectionists are focused on growth. They challenge themselves by setting high goals and standards that they aren’t afraid of losing. One of the many positive sides to perfectionism is being able to take that messy action – the ability to move forward without knowing everything in advance, having it all figured out, or being totally perfect. I want you to question assumptions regularly and re-evaluate them as necessary. Your decisions can change and we can adjust along the way. Perfectionism is your superpower!
Accepting Fundamental Truths
This third mindset shift is probably the most important one of all: accepting fundamental truths. When you do that, sales will just flow to you! There are seven fundamental truths that you have to accept but we’re only going to cover a few today. One of them is that visibility requires consistency. I know that putting yourself out there and getting visibility can be scary, and it’s something you have to keep doing over and over again. Sales are only ever going to happen with qualified leads, and there are many ways to get them, but you have to show up consistently. Another fundamental truth is that your message won’t resonate with everyone. And that is okay! Trying to appeal to everyone often results in watered-down messaging that people don’t connect with. You getting clear on who you aren’t ‘for’ is as important as figuring out who you are ‘for.’ The final fundamental truth I’m discussing today is the things that scare you are often the things that lead to significant progress. We mostly view fear and discomfort as negative things but what if you view it as an opportunity to grow? Discomfort isn’t a sign of weakness! It simply means you’re on the brink of growth and approaching a place where true transformation can occur. Growth is a continuous journey and the more you lean into discomfort, the more resilient you will become.
I’m going to give you a task today to help you create momentum in your business. I want you to think about a task that you’ve been avoiding in your business and for just 15 minutes, just commit to finishing that project. I also want to encourage you to listen to my fundamental truths and consider accepting them in your own business because it will make a huge difference. I have created this training to dive deep into these shifts so that they become like second nature in your life. I have them all locked and loaded for you in the course portal of the Co-op! Let’s get started!
