Before You Build Your Next Funnel (Listen to THIS)
Episode 933: Show Notes
So many people build funnels to bring in passive income and wonder why it doesn’t sell – that’s because they skipped a step! In this episode, I’m going to help you explore the step that so many people miss: the one that is going to guarantee you actual income and talk about the right way to build a funnel.
The reason most funnels fail has very little to do with the actual product or how well you teach! The truth is, if it hasn’t converted in a live launch and you haven’t seen that people are responding to your offer, then it’s not ready for evergreen.
While it is possible to have a product out there that makes you money while you sleep, most of the time you need mechanisms out there that help move people through the buying piece of that puzzle – and funnels are a great way to do that! If you want to find out more, head to Next Level Funnels.
The Power of Live Launches
Building a funnel without knowing what converts can lead to a lot of problems because you can’t diagnose issues without having a live promotion first. When you are working on a live promotion, you are able to test things and fix things en masse and in real time.
But when you don’t have that amount of attention on a product, it’s really hard to pinpoint what to change. You can spend weeks or months trying to diagnose an issue that would take minutes during a live launch.
I think running a hybrid business is way more fun anyway! You can leverage the real-time feedback of a live launch to build a product that actually sells while benefitting from evergreen sales after the fact.
Keeping it Simple!
I like to keep my live launches incredibly simple! The bottom line is that your offer shouldn’t feel like a shock to your audience, it should feel like a natural extension of what you’re already doing. When launching live, you’re able to focus on the things that are most effective and then put them into the funnel.
For example, one of the launches I did last year was a challenge, and the traction and enthusiasm I got was incredible. But as soon as we moved into the live sales portion after the live event, there was so much chaos and confusion. It wasn’t because people didn’t want the product, it was because there wasn’t enough differentiation between the free offer and the paid offer.
The beauty of adjusting a product for a funnel after doing it live is that you don’t have to fight what isn’t working! Because there was confusion, people were just not making the purchase. Then, when making adjustments for the funnel, I paid attention to what people were resonating with.
When I made changes, we went from a 3% conversion rate to 8% – that is incredibly high! And it didn’t just help the sales of the product on the back-end, it also helped people get better results. So, when you build your funnel, I would highly suggest that you keep it super simple!
The Importance of Measuring Analytics
Throughout your live launch, you want to measure what’s working, what’s getting the highest engagement, what people are clicking, where people are getting confused, what questions people have, what is resonating, and ultimately, what’s converting!
I want you to measure, measure, measure, and look at all of the analytics of that launch. Then and only then is when I want you to move on to building out your funnels. People often think that great funnels create sales, but that’s not necessarily true. Great offers and great messaging are what create sales. The funnel is just the mechanism.
I want to help you build your next funnel and walk you through the best step-by-step process. If you want to build evergreen content or fix past mistakes you’ve made when building funnels, then you need Next Level Funnels! I look forward to supporting you on your journey!
