What AI Can’t Replace (And What You Should Automate Anyway)
Episode 945: Show Notes
AI is everywhere. It’s an undeniably powerful tool, it’s evolving fast, and it’s not going away. But even with all that momentum, there are still some things it can’t do and some things you should absolutely let it handle for you.
It also provokes a lot of different reactions. For some, fear is the first response. Others feel overwhelmed or confused. Maybe you’re just tired of the noise! All anyone has talked about for the last two years has been AI, and honestly? I get it. Every one of those reactions is valid.
But here’s what I want to do today: point out what makes you unique, your story, your lived experience, your creative spark, and show you how you can work with AI, not against it. Because it’s critically important that business owners learn how to use it, otherwise you're going to be left in the dust. My goal is for you to walk away feeling empowered and clear on how to use AI to save time, spark ideas, and support your business without ever losing what makes your voice special!
AI Can’t Replace Your Story, Voice & Experience
AI doesn’t have your story, and that’s your biggest asset! It doesn't have your lived experience, beliefs, voice, or background. You were there living it every single day. AI wasn’t watching you. In a world increasingly saturated with machine-generated content, the real differentiator is YOU. As we see more AI-created content, people are going to crave more things that feel distinctively human. Your unique journey, beliefs, and how you see the world are irreplaceable.
Identify the stories that shaped your perspective and share them. Not because they’re polished or perfect, but because they’re human. If you're being hired for your lived experience, are you sharing that enough? Are you making it clear how you’re unique? Start weaving your story into your messaging wherever you can. It’s the thing that makes people care!
The Power of Emotional Nuance & Creative Intuition
AI might sound like it cares, but it can’t actually care. Empathy, emotional nuance, and that gut-level knowing? That’s you. What triggers you? What motivates you? What inspires you? What connects you to other people? Those emotional patterns form the basis for genuine connection, and AI just can’t replicate that depth.
Lean into your emotional responses. Use them as tools to shape content, connect with your audience, and decide what’s worth sharing. And trust and hone your creative intuition; that visionary spark that sees potential in something before it exists. Your weird metaphors, your frameworks, how you see things fitting together, that’s your creative genius. Follow it.
Using AI to Save Time & Make Money in Your Business
The rule is simple: when do you use a system? There are only two answers. When it’s going to save you time or make you money. AI is a system, so use it like one! From generating headline variations to rewriting content across platforms, it can take the heavy lifting off your plate and help you get to the good stuff faster.
What are the things that are draining time from you? If it’s repetitive in nature, it’s probably a great opportunity to ask AI for help! Start by automating recurring text-based tasks. Think content repurposing, outlining and summarizing, headline testing, and customer service replies. AI might get you 100% of the way or it might only get you 80% of the way, but even if it gets you 80% of the way, it can do it in about five seconds when the same task might’ve taken you 10 minutes manually. If you repeat this time-saving again and again, it’s going to add up!
Collaborating with AI, Not Competing With It
The “new normal” is what I call hybrid creation. The smartest creators aren’t trying to outsmart AI; they’re partnering with it. Think of AI as more of your intern, idea bouncer, collaborator, or business partner. You're still the creative director. You’re still the CEO. You’re still making the financial decisions. AI can spark ideas, help you organize thoughts, and keep things moving, but you call the shots!
Use AI to enhance your process, not replace your voice. Feed it your POV, your experiences, your tone, and let it work in your style. AI is ultimately reflecting you back to yourself (with the added benefit of access to the internet). It’s your ideas enhanced, your personality amplified.
The Future of AI: From Productivity Partner to Task Execution Tool
What’s coming next is wild! AI won’t just suggest things, it will do them. Think: automating tasks like updating your website or managing workflows, even checking in to help keep you on track. You will see more people using AI in a coaching-type manner, again, not replacing a human, but helping them stay on track.
The real advantage of using AI for business will come from your ability to personalize it and make it feel as human and relatable as possible. It’s all about how you position it, how deeply it resonates, and how well you use it to truly connect. Stay curious about what’s possible. Start experimenting with tools that allow AI to integrate into your daily tasks. Whether it's prioritizing your to-do list or following up on customer requests, the future is about smart delegation, and that starts now.
For all of the reasons I’ve mentioned and more, I’m currently building my own AI tool called ClickCopy. The goal? To help you transform one piece of copy into multiple outputs instantly, in your voice, with the background on your product suite for your ideal audience. It’s designed for creators who are tired of reinventing the wheel and want to repurpose their content faster and smarter.
If that’s you, head to clickcopy.ai to join the waitlist. I’d love to keep you in the loop!
